Messier M20

M20 (NGC 6514) is a Trifid Nebula located in the constellation Sagittarius, is best viewed during Late Summer, and is magnitude 5. The naked eye can see magnitude 6 objects (magnitude 8 under ideal dark sky conditions). It is 28' in size. For reference, the full moon is 30' (arc minutes) in size, or 1/2°.
